    • Travers: I really enjoyed your peformances again at this years Bluegrass Festival in Plymouth CA! Whether you are a sideman for Larry Gillis, James King or leading your own fabulous band, Avery County your energy, enthusiasm, excellent musicianship and heart felt vocals resonates your passion for traditional bluegrass music and inspires me to work more dilegently with the bluegrass band I play in to add more drive and excitment to our modest endevour to bring traditional bluegrass music to our local audiences.

    • Enjoyed your article on Charlie. My late father , James Kelley, played with Charlie in the late 50's in schoolhouses in western S.C and was on the TV show in Spartanburg. In 1973 - my father gave me his 1961 D-28 Martin - which had previously been owned by Charlie. I still play it to this day - most recently with Salem S.C' based Carolina Bluegrass Band. Ironically - our fiddle player R.J. Spencer of Toccoa GA. had also played fiddle for Charlie Moore in the late 50's. Thanks for keeping Charlie's Legacy going! He is my favorite bluegrass vocalist of all time!

    • Hey Travers~ So looking forward to your show next week at The Crepe Place. Always great to see and hear you! We've been friends for a long time...ever since BluegrassRules, then at Grass Valley when you played for James King and then Danny Paisley and Southern Grass, then Plymouth when you played with Larry Gills. My friends are your friends and it's a big ol' party of the best kind! I'm writing about you for the CBA...it'll be posted 7-20-12. I'm mentioning Charlie Moore too! Thanks my friend...see you at Curtis & SugarMeg's!
